20/01/2018 - WHITE TIGER PASTEUPS AND PROTOTYPE
After successfully painting my white tiger on the gallery wall, I knew the next step was to print these as pasteups so I could take the design to the street. To do this I isolated the tiger from my high definition photos taken on the day, and turned it into a halftone screen bitmap.
I also created a quick mockup of my design in an urban format to consider how the design could look against a rugged backdrop. Although this prototype was not to scale, as I expected I would get this design made at approximately A2 size, and placement was a little off, it ensured me that this image would still stand out against more intense backgrounds. I had added a small white border around the edge of the design, to give it a 'stickerlike' quality and help it maintain it's visual integrity on any surface. It also made the tiger look increasingly exposed and isolated atop the column, increasing the display and un-nurturing sense of the composition.
